Angela Davis in Leipzig

Angela Davis in Leipzig

CATALOGUE TEXT
Part of the self-image of international solidarity among the socialist states was to support not only the national liberation movements in the countries of the Third World but also the communist parties in the Western world in order to promote social progress across the globe. Solidarity was also declared with Angela Davis, a well-known US civil rights activist and communist. She received an honorary doctorate from Karl Marx University Leipzig. The film is a joint effort of the amateurs of the Leipziger Pionierhaus (House of the Pioneers), the House of German-Soviet Friendship and two company film groups.
