CATALOGUE TEXT
“Something happened to me,” Vera writes to her friend, the filmmaker Annelie. What happened is F32.2, the professional shorthand for depressive episodes without psychotic symptoms. Experts are arguing over diagnoses and therapies, but (like Vera) are still puzzled. Medical jargon intrudes into the intimate epistolary trialogue between the protagonist, the director and the camera. MRT brain sections and subjective speech patterns, analysis and emphasis: a struggle for valid metaphors for a disease that comes “out of the blue”.
